January 29 - 12th Annual Polar Bear Run - This is a mystery run so no one knows where they are going until they get there. Fred Fann says, "We will leave the Valero gas station (23002 Airport Street, Petersburg, VA 23803) at the intersection of Route 226 (Cox Road) and Route 460 in Dinwiddie at PRECISELY 8:30 AM on Saturday January 29th. If you show up at 8:31 be sure to look for the taillights in the distance. We will take a ride to a small town where you will be able to see a shop full of interesting stuff. And I have a wonderful luncheon buffet set up for us in another town. It will all be over by 1 or 1:30 including lunch and you'll only be about 50 miles from Richmond. I will post sign-up info later on the Car Club Council of Virginis's web site. Check for updates at: CCCCVA - This is a fun event and breaks the winter season for hobbyists. August 13, 2011 - 12th Annual MDA Car Show Roundup To Benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association and "Jerry's Kids" In Central Virginia at Richard Bland College, 11300 Johnson Rd in Petersburg, Va. 23805 - The Southern Knights Cruisers will again present this show which has raised over $240,000 over the past 11 years. The best part is that our sponsors pay all the expenses allowing All Proceeds from the car show to go directly toward lifesaving programs for people living with neuromuscular diseases in the Central Virginia area. MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat 43 neuromuscular diseases through worldwide research, comprehensive services and far-reaching professional health education. Some of these services in the local area include clinics at UVA, Kluge Children’s Rehabilitation Center, MCV and Children’s Hospital; local support groups; durable medical equipment; and a summer camp for children with muscle-wasting diseases. Every Friday Annandale, Virginia. - MACC Friday Nite Cruise-In has been going on now for 16 years and is open to all comers, space permitting. You are likely to see just about anything. Cruise In Every Friday starting June – August. King William County Parks and Recreation Cruise In starts June 19th every Friday night through August 21st. Where? King William High School (parking lot). When? 06:00 pm – 08:30 pm. (weather permitting) Every Friday night during the cruise in season, we will take a step back into the Cruise In days, when the parking lots at KWHS fill with beautiful antique automobiles.
